My beginnings in the love of clay came when I was 17 years old from an encounter with ancient fingerprints found in a piece of pottery. Working at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum gave many opportunities for me to interact with excavated objects which solidified my interests. This sculpture piece was made extremely thin and wrapped to mimic the properties of fossilized bone.
This small sculpture is constructed with earthenware clay, and glaze to accent it’s textured characteristics. Left in it’s raw clay state this clay is soft to the touch.
