Day #5- What Is It? – 1LB of Clay 25 Ways Project

As you know from the beginning video of this series the goal is to inspire creativity. Day 5’s use of the one pound of clay took many forms before I had to call it quits..LOL! It was a cup, then it was cut into a dish and then it was formed as a lantern that was to be hung. Because I still had clay left of the 1lb I ended up putting a foot on it…with still some left I rolled it into a ball and created my making to sit in the center of the piece. Now that you know the results…here are my thoughts.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS:   Visually speaking ….hmmm. I’ll refrain judgement until it comes out of the glaze firing..LOL!  I think more than how it turned out I can say this piece taught me a lot more about clay itself. What it can do, how long it can do it, what not to do…in more than one instance I stretched it too far and had to change directions to finish the piece. It was a tremendous learning experience!

THE ATMOSPHERE:  Concentration and problem solving. The entire time I worked on this piece I was continually trying to anticipate my next move! Some decisions were good and others………
Like I said, when this thing is glazed I may LOVE IT…but for now, I’ll wait 😀
Hope you enjoyed today’s piece and I’ll be back at it again tomorrow!!
Thanks for watching and go ENJOY SOME CLAY!
