(WRAP UP VIDEO COMING DECEMBER 27TH)
It has come to my attention that this 2023 year will be over in a matter of a few weeks. ALREADY?
While reflecting back over this past year as I searched through a hard drive full of un-edited pottery adventure videos, (many from as far back as COVID 2020), I had to take a pause and ask myself…
What am I REALLY doing here as a “hobby potter”?
Pottery has been play, it has been rest and healing, it has been the excitement of creating and learning with every new encounter. Most recently it has been time spent alone with my thoughts and fresh new ideas. But let’s face it, this hobby potter lifestyle has been a part of my daily thoughts for over a decade!
When I’m creating in the studio, I’m not producing videos so when I’m producing videos that means I’m not creating. This tension between the two should be second nature as I still struggle to make this balancing act work. It’s a labor of love that must fit within my personal life and all the seasons of it throughout the years. I want it to continue in a meaningful way!
BUT, I have a secret …
It’s DEEPER than just sharing how-to videos, or selling a few cups or art pieces. It has always been about sincerely connecting with others who share the same passion and love, with the hope that my sharing may bring someone courage to learn, grow in knowledge and experience mutual camaraderie.
I’ve always said to myself, “If only one person finds my clay journey helpful to their life in some way, all the time and effort has been well spent!
SO…WRAPPING IT ALL UP…
I’ll be sharing 1 great big last video for 2023 on the Hobby Potter YouTube channel and then I’ll be splitting up pottery how-to’s with the clay lifestyle journey on a New YouTube Channel @expressivesart
(Be sure to subscribe if you want to be updated when I begin publishing)!
Thank you for being with me and making my clay journey all the more meaningful!
Until Next Time ~ Tammy Jo
As a hobby potter myself as well, I feel exactly like you! I learn a lot from and i am excited for every new video publish.
Thank you!
Happy holidays!
Thank you TammyJo for everything. You really have connected in a personal, sincere and meaningful way. I have always been amazed at how bottomless your love for people is because if I know one thing, it is that you treat each and every person with the same care and concern you have shown me.
I want you to know that when I started trying to learn how to throw I would watch YouTube videos. My husband found you 30 cups in 30 days videos and I was energized and inspired by your journey which lead me to your Facebook group. At the time I was struggling, alone, and discouraged. I shared with the group what I was struggling with and the advice I received got me over the hump and I was able to finally move forward in my clay journey!
I am so thankful for you and I wish you a very merry Christmas and the happiest New Year ever!
God bless,
Debbie
